Traditions and The Sanctuary Choir

Wildwood’s choir, which sings at 8:45 am each week in Traditions, brings amazing musicality and spiritual leadership to worship. There are approximately 40 members in the choir which meets year-round. Weekly rehearsals, worship leadership, prayer, and fellowship are all important parts of this ministry. An important part of our choir are our interns – high school and college students who are training for a career that includes church music. These talented young people bring life and a high level of professionalism to all that we do. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:15 – 8:45 pm.  Anyone can join by showing up on Wednesday. We are always ready for people to try out singing with us and to join the choir! For more information, contact Jim Kritikos @ jimmy@wildwood-umc.org

The Table

This traditional service will be similar to Traditions except that we will serve Holy Communion every Sunday.

The Gathering (Contemporary)

Contemporary worship music, interactive prayer, and a relevant message are key parts of this worship service. Led in worship by a dynamic worship team, we would love for you to join us Sundays at 11:15 am in the Sanctuary.  For more information, contact Jimmy Kritikos @ jimmy@wildwood-umc.org.

Bell Ministry

My name is Edward Gibson and I go by Ed.  Thank you for your interest in handbells at Wildwood United Methodist.  Our first rehearsal will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in room 303, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  Our rehearsal space is close to the choir room.  We will prepare to ring on Pentecost, May 28, 2023.  After that, our bells will be sent off for refurbishment.   We have seven experienced ringers that I've spoken with and I am sure more will grace our presence.
I'm looking forward to ringing with you.  I am a Music Educator and I teach at Stewart Elementary in Conroe Independent School District.  I teach over 700 students from Kindergarten through 6th grade.  I teach General Music from Kindergarten through 4th Grade and I teach choir in 5th and 6th Grades. I was a full time church musician for 15 years.  Half of that time was spent as Music Director at First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie, TX and the remaining half was at Christ Church in The Woodlands.  In 2020 my third grade music teacher, Dr. Bob Horton (Coordinator of Finer Arts for Conroe I.S.D), called me and asked if I would come work at Stewart Elementary.  This has been my true calling and I find joy in nourishing students' music education.

Again, I can't wait for us to ring together

Please enjoy this link of some of my former handbell choirs.

Special Music and Concerts

We have hosted and worked with some of the top names in Christian music – such as Ken Medema, Randy Stonehill, Mark Miller, and Mark Hayes. Our choir also presents concerts with professional orchestra twice per year. Recent concerts have included “Requiem” by Gabriel Faure as well as a more contemporary classical work called “Eternal Light” by Howard Goodall. Throughout the year we engage local Houston artists in worship and special concerts.
