What is "Counting Our Blessings"

A word from Rev. Dr. Deanna Young

Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ!

As we approach the season of Thanksgiving and Advent, I’d like to invite you to participate in “Counting Our Blessings”. Counting Our Blessings is a way we give thanks to God as we name the many ways God has blessed Wildwood and the ways God blesses others through Wildwood’s missions and ministries.

Last year during this season, our congregation donated $250,000 in the month of December toward our General Operations Budget. I am so confident that we can do it again this year that I challenge Wildwood to exceed this amount! This money will help us end the year with a reserve fund as we enter 2025. It will also help us to pay the remainder of our apportionments and pay off our Line of Credit.

How will we “Count Our Blessings”? Each Sunday, beginning this Sunday, before our offertory we will highlight different missions and ministries which make Wildwood who we are. You will see and hear how Wildwood’s missions and ministries positively impact others. Be on the lookout for “Counting Our Blessings” portion of worship through the end of the year.

I think there could be no better way to welcome Rev. Rhett back from his sabbatical than for you to have exceeded your generosity of last year.  As we embark on this journey, we ask you to prayerfully consider how you might participate in “Counting Our Blessings and to join us in prayer for the success of this initiative. Then join us on Sunday mornings for “Counting Our Blessings” as we give thanks for God’s great love and generosity to us.

With Gratitude and Hope,

Rev. Dr. Deanna Young

Update

We are thrilled to share that, as of December 27th, our congregation has given a total of $199,182 toward our Counting Our Blessings goal of $250,000. Now that’s something to celebrate! Your generosity has already made a meaningful impact, and together, we can finish strong this year and begin next year well, building on this foundation of faith, love, and dedication.
