Wildwood's choir, which sings at 9am each week in Traditions, is one of the best church choirs you'll find anywhere. Every week they bring amazing musicality and spiritual leadership to worship. There are approximately 40 members in the choir which meets year-round. Weekly rehearsals, worship leadership, prayer, and fellowship are all important parts of this ministry. An important part of our choir are our interns - high school and college students who are training for career in church music. These talented young people bring life and a high level of professionalism to all that we do. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:30 – 9 p.m. Anyone can join at anytime by showing up on Wednesday. We are always ready for people to try out singing with us and to join the choir!
The Wildwood Worship Team is professional-level group of musicians who have a heart for worship. Leading the band is Glen Ackerman, a very well-known jazz musician from the Houston area. Our combination of high level professionals and equally talented volunteers combine for a great team that leads us each week in The Gathering.
From hosting luminaries in church music, such as Ken Medema, Randy Stonehill, and Mark Hayes, to highlighting Houston's highest level musicians we have special offerings that appeal to all during each year. Our choir also presents concerts with professional orchestra twice per year. The most recent concerts have included the masterpiece "Requiem" by Gabriel Faure as well as a more contemporary classical work called "Eternal Light" by Howard Goodall. During the summer we have an authentic Bluegrass Music service and many guest artists.
Here's what's coming up very soon:
